According to the World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS), Germany is the third largest exporter in the world in 2022, after the United States and China. In 2023, German exports will amount to EUR 1575 billion (destastis.de) and will contribute to Germany achieving an overall export-import balance of EUR 219 billion.
In addition, German companies will focus even more on foreign markets in the future.
According to a survey by the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) of around 3,500 companies with foreign operations, German companies are much more optimistic about their business situation abroad than in their domestic market.
Get a competitive edge in 2025 and find new business partners abroad: The Partnering in Business with Germany programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection.
Partnering in Business with Germany is a global programme of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection to promote foreign trade. The goal is to successfully initiate business between medium-sized companies from developing and emerging countries and Germany. Every year, around 1,000 executives from abroad are prepared for entering the German market and B2B contacts are established with German companies that in turn want to open up new markets for themselves. The programme creates long-term business relationships and a global network of internationally active SMEs.
As part of the programme , company representatives from selected countries are invited to Germany for three weeks. During the three weeks, German companies act as hosts and receive the company representatives in their factories or offices to present the company and its activities and exchange ideas with the international guests. In addition, there is the opportunity to arrange individual business appointments to discuss specific business collaborations.
The programme is rounded off by training sessions that serve to develop skills for working with German companies. The programme enables German companies to find qualified business partners abroad with little effort.
